Introducing Felipe Monroy, the Director of the Antelope Tennis Academy at Antelope Tennis Center. Felipe has an extensive background in playing, teaching and organizing tennis programs for juniors and adults. Felipe is a local Antelope area coach for the IMG-Bollettieri Tennis Academy based in Florida.   Felipe is a USPTA tennis professional with a professional 1 rating, and was the Director of Tennis at the Arden Hills Resort Club & Spa for the past 9 years.

Felipe has come to the Antelope Tennis Center to implement the Antelope Tennis Academy using the IMG-Bollettieri Tennis Academy methodology.   The Bollettieri method develops the total player; one who can perform technically, tactically, physically and mentally.   With a large number of junior tennis players at the Antelope Tennis Center and with the two high schools, two middle schools, and eight elementary schools in the Antelope area there is a basic need for a local tennis training center that can develop and launch the total player from beginner into the collegiate and/or pro level. This academy will allow dedicated athletes to focus on reaching their potential, while teaching them responsibility, leadership and determination.

While instructing at the IMG-Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida, Felipe worked with world class players such as Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams and witnessed the complete making of a tennis player; from the pee wee stages to the world class athlete.  Felipe saw how practice and drilling with a purpose allows an athlete to achieve absolute confidence.  As an IMG-Bollettieri trained professional, Felipe has the ability and experience needed to enable his Antelope Tennis Academy students to reach their maximum potential.  

The Antelope Tennis Academy at Antelope Tennis Center will allow an average of 11 to 15 daily students.   These players will come from Antelope and the surrounding areas.   Head Coach Felipe Monroy will provide Antelope juniors the same proven system he used with professional players while at the IMG-Bollettieri Tennis Academy.   A routine academy session will feature on court instruction, drills, conditioning, and real-time video player performance analysis and feedback.   Competitive match play at the academy is a key component of player development and will be emphasized as players progress through competition in 10 and Under Tennis, USTA Team Tennis, and USTA and SATA Tournament play.  

The Antelope Tennis Academy at Antelope Tennis Center is offered year-round on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons for students ages 7 to 17 years.  Student enrollment is now open and is ongoing throughout the year, so students can join at any time.   Parents should contact Head Tennis Coach Felipe Monroy to discuss the new and exciting opportunities being offered at the Antelope Tennis Center and how to enroll their child.

Welcome to our home page.  ACTA provides low-cost year-round adult tennis leagues, tournaments, and FREE social-mixers at the Antelope Community Park, 7900 Falcon View Drive, 95843.  Players of all abilities are welcome, especially those new to tennis.  Participants are grouped with players of like ability.  New leagues start every 8 weeks.  Check out the events calendar on the right side of this page to see upcoming events.

Use of the ACTA website is free.  The ACTA website helps our tennis players gain valuable, dynamic feedback on their tennis games.   It contains web-based tools that allow you to create and maintain your own tennis profile and Tencap Tennis Rating while connecting with other players in the Greater Sacramento Area.

You are invited to be on an ACTA USTA team. ACTA would like to have men's and women's teams at the 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 levels. The league format is one match each week with 3 courts of doubles and two courts of singles. Home matches will be played at our home courts on weekend afternoons and weeknights. Away matches will be played at the opponents courts in the Sacramento Region on the dates and times that courts are available.

The deadline to register a team is Feb 26, 2012. The regular season play begins March 26th and ends the week of July 1st.

If you think that you might want to be on a team or if you might want to captain a team, contact Bonnie Taylor , taylorband@aol.com, our ACTA External League Coordinator, right away! Let Bonnie know what team you want to be on, your rating level, and if you want to be a captain or just a player. Each team needs a minimum of about 12 players. Bonnie will contact you if we get enough players to form the team you are interested in. You can help by recruiting your fellow players to be on your team.
